Top Five Outfits from My Amsterdam Trip

Last week my husband celebrated his birthday so we flew out to Amsterdam for a long weekend. It was my first time visiting so I was really excited about the trip. We were there for four days and we tried to fit in as much as possible as you can imagine, bearing in mind that we spent one day outside Amsterdam, visiting Keukenhof. We walked a lot every day, so I tried to style my outfits with comfort in mind first and foremost. During my trip, I shared on Instagram a few snaps of my daily outfits, but there were still a few which didn’t make it on the grid. With that in mind, I rounded up my top favourite outfits from Amsterdam so here goes.

Lace Top & Tulle Skirt

By far my favourite outfit from Amsterdam was this tulle and lace combo – having my own ‘Fairy moment’ when we visited the fields of flowers outside Keukenhof Gardens. Pink and black always complement each other beautifully and the lace and tulle is the ultimate romantic-chic go-to outfits. I went for a casual look and I paired the pink tulle skirt and the cropped lace top with a short leather jacket and these pink embellished trainer flats. If you want to go for romantic-chic then a blazer and a pair of heels would work perfectly.

Pink Trousers & Leather Jacket

When Zara launched their high waist trouser collection this spring, everyone went completely mad over these pink trousers in particular. They were in such a huge demand that I tried ordering them for weeks but they weren’t in stock until quite recently. And not for nothing, as they are a stunning shade for the spring season and an absolutely perfect fit. The tailored style and the waist belt are such nice details – elegant with a twist of chic. I styled the trousers with a V neck top and layered them with a leather jacket for a bit of an edge. The embellished pink trainers are Kurt Geiger and they are just the perfect combo of comfort and style which I always look for when it comes to trainers.

Black and Red Floral Dress

Believe it or not, I bought this dress since November and I have been dreaming about the day when I could finally wear it. No better time than in the middle of one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen: Keukenhof Gardens. The maxi dress is from H&M and it’s such a delightful piece for spring/summer. The pleats and the floral pattern make it look really chic and the black and red is a lovely colour combo. One of the things which I absolutely adore is that it has ¾ sleeves which complement the maxi length beautifully. I’ve styled mine with an oversized round belt but it looks equally gorgeous without or you could give it a romantic touch with a black or red waist ribbon.

Oversized Patterned Shirt and Trainers

When it comes to patterns and prints I have quite a classic taste. You wouldn’t normally see me wear anything else but the more ‘traditional’ stripes, polka dots and maybe checked prints. I’ve never worn an animal print piece and not sure if I will any time soon. But lately, I have been experimenting more because I am looking to get out of my ‘fashion comfort zone’. When I saw this white and gold printed shirt from Zara I was somehow surprised by how much I love it and how sleek it actually looks. I wore it with black tailored trousers for that chic-elegant vibe and a pair of embellished satin trainers from Kurt Geiger to complete the look – a casual, relaxed one with a twist.

The Green Trench Coat

The weather was a bit gloomy and windy the day we landed so I wrapped up tight in this gorgeous emerald green trench coat from H&M which is currently my outerwear obsession for spring. I got soooo many questions about it, so I’ve linked to it below. It’s such a beautiful statement coat to have in your wardrobe this season – it’s super chic and this stunning green colour is nothing like I’ve seen before. You might find it a bit challenging to style so what I would suggest is go for monochrome outfits and let the coat be the statement piece of your outfit.
