Winter is such a great time to mix and match different fabrics, textures and styles. This season, one of my favourite combos was wearing knits with midi skirts, which I think gives that casual-chic vibe whilst keeping you warm, so definitely a double winner.
I didn’t have a leather pleated skirt in my wardrobe so I was super excited to finally add this to my ‘midi skirt collection’. I have always been a bit ‘reserved’ when it comes to leather clothing as I think it’s not necessarily my style. I am talking specifically about trousers or dresses here, not about skirts or biker jackets. But to be honest, the leather pleated skirt is right up my street so I thought I would give it a try and I am really happy I did because I found it to be super chic.
Also, it’s quite versatile to style, making it a great choice to wear for work with a white shirt, for a Sunday brunch with a slouchy knit or a satin cami for a night out. I am also super tempted to try the double leather during spring with a nice biker jacket. The gold/bronze metallic colour so unique, it’s also the only metallic piece I have in my wardrobe at the moment, but I’m quite digging the vibe!
Two surprising things about the skirt:
1. It’s super light and easy to ‘carry’. I would have thought that since it’s leather it would be quite heavy, but it feels surprisingly light around the waist.
2. It’s…a bit loud: if you think you might want to wear this to a surprise party or want to sneak in behind someone, don’t, cause you might give it away. It’s not as loud as carrying tic-tacs in your pocket, but it’s not your normal skirt.
I was out with a meal with friends this weekend so I wanted to go for something chic but not too fancy so I styled mine with a black oversized knit, ankle boots and my faux fur jacket for a bit of glam.
