Monochrome with a Twist of Purple

I love my black and white outfit combos. ‘The Classics’ – how I like to call them. I am no stranger to colours, believe me, but I would choose a monochrome outfit over a colourful one at any time. They always look so effortlessly elegant and chic. On the bright side (pun intended) they give you the liberty to get creative and make a statement with your accessories. My all-time favourite look is going for a monochrome outfit and giving it a colourful twist with some nice accessories. It creates that perfect balance of classic-chic and the colours add so much personality to it.

One of the trends I have been in love with this season has been wearing oversized pieces, from clothes to earrings and bags. The wide leg trousers have definitely touched a soft spot and they have taken me out of trouble many times, from choosing them for a workday to a dinner date.

For this monochrome outfit, I’ve complemented my wide leg trousers with a casual oversized white shirt, making it is a great choice for work or for a relaxed afternoon with friends. I wanted to add a bit of twist to the outfit so I opted for this year’s most wanted colour: purple. I’ve always had a thing for purple, it’s definitely one of my go-to colours when I want to bring a bit of life to an outfit. I particularly like pastel shades such as lilac because they give a feminine edge to any look. I boosted my monochrome look with a cross-body purple bag and a pair of handmade purple earrings.
