If you are a print lover, consider yourself lucky. Prints are so on trend this season and high-street retailers are stocking up on leopard print, polka dots, checks and florals like you wouldn’t believe it.
Minimalist pieces will always be my first love, but I will never say no to a good print, although I’ve always considered myself quite conservative to what type of print I would wear and where I draw the line. I am totally there for the more traditional all-year rounder stripes, florals in spring, maybe checks in autumn, but no more than that.
I have recently discovered a love for animal print though, which I have never been a fan of, strangely. Now I have completely gone wild for it and I am just about to dress in it from head to toe. Another type of print which I have been attracted to this season was the floral/fruit combo, specifically the lemon print.
Personally, I’ve always associated lemon print with ‘La Dolce Vita’, the wonderful Italian holidays, where everything seems to be moving at a slow pace. It’s strange how an outfit can change your mood in an instant and take your mind from the hustle and bustle of the city to the serenity of summer holidays.
The dress that brought me a bit of that mood lately is this lovely piece from Boohoo, which I have worn on repeat for the last few weeks. The bright lemon print and the breezy fabric are so refreshing, making this stylish number the perfect dress for hot summer days in the city.
The plunging neckline and the front knot cut-out are such lovely details, which combined with the oversized sleeves give it that casual, laidback vibe. It looks wonderful with espadrilles or slides, making it a lovely choice for a chilled weekend brunch or a casual date night, with sandals and a bucket bag.
