January Blues

Floral Royal Blue Top

January is hard on all of us. The weather is always miserable, the pressure of new year’s resolutions which we only keep in the first week and the thought that spring is yet to come for at least two months always brings us down.

But then, there’s always something in our wardrobe that makes us feel better about ourselves and makes even the gloomiest day brighter.

For me, it’s been a blue top which has made me think of the ‘January blues’ in a much more fashionable way. Now, this might be a bit too unconventional to wear or a bit too embellished for some, but for me, this is what makes it so unique. The colour, the cut, the details and the fabric are so stylish and make it a perfect choice for when you want to look chic.

The first thing I absolutely love about it is fabric – the soft suede makes is such a beautiful choice for winter or early spring and the high neck cut is a really classy touch. It’s actually the first time I’ve had such an elegant top made of suede but I am totally up to it!

Flower Detail Zara Top

The stunning royal blue colour and the overlaying flower details have an oriental vibe to them and the oversized ¾ sleeves give it that chic edge that I always look for when I choose a top.

You know how I like my skirts so I’m wearing this with a midi scuba skirt with a round belt. It’s an absolutely perfect choice for an afternoon soiree, especially paired ankle boots and a clutch bag.

You can also dress it down with a pair of trousers or even white jeans. For me, I think I would wear it with a pair of wide-leg trousers or culottes if you want to give that effortlessly stylish vibe.
