Not sure how many oversized jumpers can one buy, but I’ve definitely championed it this season. I can say without a doubt that they’ve been one of my favourite pieces this winter. They are so easy to style and you can go from casual to chic in no time with the right accessories.
One of the greatest oversized knits which I bought this winter is the batwing style. I find the batwing jumper to be the ultimate cold-weather layering piece and it is also such a stylish way to keep cosy during winter months. It will make a plush addition to any outfit, and it’s easy to style with tailored trousers, pleated skirts, leather mini-skirts or even a pair of jeans.
My jumper is from Reiss and it’s 80% lambswool, making is incredibly warm and cosy. Don’t let the three-quarter sleeves fool you, it’s perfect to wear on a chilly winter day and it will keep that cold away, believe me. The oversized batwing sleeves and the chunky roll neck are such beautiful details and give the top that chic-classy vibe which I absolutely love.
I feel like the batwing oversized silhouette altogether makes for an effortlessly elegant piece and with the right statement accessories, you can give it a different edge depending on what look you’re going for. A brooch will make it more feminine and a pair of statement earrings can make it look super chic.
I have styled mine with a pair of black tailored trousers and ankle boots which can be a great workwear outfit, especially layered with a blazer. If you want to jazz it up for a date night or an afternoon outing with friends you can accessorise it with a pair of statement earrings.
I received a lot of questions on my Instagram on how you can style it with skirts, so keep an eye for part two of how to style a batwing jumper with skirts.
